Prayers of last resort

In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
      he saved me from all my troubles. Ps. 34:6

Prayer isn’t a last resort nor is it some kind of a 50%-50% gamble. God loves us and wants a relationship with us that involves back and forth communication. It’s infinitely better to come to the Father because we love and trust Him and let Him keep us out of trouble, but His arms are still open when we’re desperate and finally admit we can’t fix our own messes.

Lord, forgive me for my prayers of last resort.
