Glimmers and squints

The people who walked  in darkness have seen a great light. Those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them a light shined. Isaiah 9:2 (ESV)

It takes eyes some time to adjust when coming out of darkness into light. Christ, the light that shines in the dark, enlightens our minds,  illuminates our paths, and evaporates our despair. He provides warmth and energy to our sometime cold or weary approaches to life. Those sorts of changes take some getting used to.

Lord, thanks for glimmers when I’m in dark places and for times when You’re so bright I’m squinting.
