Scalpels in unskilled hands

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Heb. 4:12

If we use the word as a sword it should be to defend against our spiritual enemy not to attack one another. And none of us are skilled enough to play doctor by using the word as a scalpel. Only the Lord is skilled enough to remove sin and implant truth with His word.  Our role in one another’s healing is to bind wounds and help manage pain.

Lord,  help me use your word to encourage, to equip, and to heal.
