Cheap perfume in a cracked jar

“She knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them.” Luke 7:38

This is the response of one broken woman to Jesus. She didn’t wait until conditions were perfect or all her baggage was gone to bring Jesus sweet perfume in a beautiful alabaster jar. She brought the best and most valuable stuff she had and her broken self to Jesus and used them to serve. Too often service means bringing cheap perfume in cracked jars and saving the good stuff for personal use.

Lord, forgive me when I don’t use my best stuff to serve You.
