Looking at big “buts”

We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed. Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything. 2 Cor. 6:9-11

The dichotomy between experience and attitude creates tension in  the way we process life through our spirits, our minds, and our actions. Sometimes momentarily, sometimes for seasons in our lives, we forget to look for the “but” and collapse under the weight of our experiences and perspective. Jesus redeems those times too.

Jesus help me keep my eyes on the “but.”
