Our Father…

Pray like this: Our Father in heaven may your name be kept holy. Matt 6:9

When Jesus introduced what we call the “Lord’s Prayer,” the first two words “our Father” were radical. Some of us, like Jesus’ earthly disciples, keep holding God at a formal distance and never enjoy Him as our “Abba, Father.” Some of us don’t know what it means to have a functional relationship with a father so we expect and receive less from our Heavenly Father than He wants to give us.

What would our prayers sound like if we approached them like a conversation with our perfect Dad?
