Moth-eaten reminder

Don’t store up treasure here on hearth, where moths eat them, and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasure in heaven where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Matt. 6:19-20

When I edit belongings and get rid of stuff that is broken, worn out, or that I don’t use I often remember what a big deal it seemed to acquire some of those items. It’s okay to enjoy our things but it is spiritually healthy to recognize the temporary nature of acquisition and ownership.

Lord, help me to treasure my life in Christ and and keep a loose grip on the stuff I use to live it.
