I’m not much of a gardener

I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you…Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing. Jn. 15:2,3,5

It’s kind of silly imagining an azalea bush trying to hold a pair of gardening shears. Branches can’t nourish or prune themselves. Plants are supposed to soak up the sun and rain and leave the gardening to the Gardener. Seems like Jesus would have used a different analogy if we are supposed to be the ones holding the shears.

Lord, I really can do nothing, You be the Gardener.
