Bringing in the New Year

…behold I make all things new again. I Cor. 5:17

The New Year is viewed as a “do-over” opportunity to fix what’s wrong with us, to make us better people. We’ll like ourselves more and feel more acceptable to others and to God. Yikes. A diet and exercise program, a strict budget, or smoking cessation class is unlikely to achieve that. But, honestly  accepting who we are right now with openness to change, pursuing our passions and developing our skills, cultivating encouraging relationships, and, most of all, focusing on Christ, might come closer to moving us toward constructive change.

Lord, I’m letting You be the new and make things new in me this year.
