The delightful breather after all the busy cheer

Jesus said, “Come off by yourselves; let’s take a little break and get some rest.” For there was constant coming and going. They hadn’t even had a chance to eat. Mark 6:30

The joy of Christmas comings and goings can be exhausting. Thinking of “holiday mode” as being constantly on the go is physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually unhealthy. We need to be secure enough in our relationships with one another that we don’t expect one another to operate at holiday pace all the time and that we don’t feel obligated to do so ourselves. We all need recharge time. We are sons and daughters of God our Father who delights when we are kicking back at home and at rest in Him, with Him and because of Him.

Jesus, thank you for all the joyful comings and goings and for the quiet rests between.
