Help is on the way

May 1st, 2012 by Maureen

Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. Dan. 10:12

To pray and not get an immediate answer is no indication that God doesn’t care. A delay does not mean that God hasn’t heard. Every cry of every heart is on God’s radar. Help is on the way.

Lord, forgive my restless, impatient heart.

City in ruins

July 31st, 2011 by Maureen

For your own sake, Lord, smile on Your desolate sanctuary…See how your city—the city that bears your name—lies in ruins. We make this plea, not because we deserve help, but because of your mercy. Dan 9:17-18

“I don’t deserve this….” or “fixing this will make You (God) look better” is probably not the best way to start a cry for help. Mercy is just that, God’s decision to restore our desolate souls even after we’ve let the garden He created in us become a desert.

Lord, please fix the mess I’ve made because of Your mercy.

God is Brilliant

He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light. Daniel 2:22

There is a lot we don’t know, a lot we don’t understand about what we do know, and a lot we don’t even know exists. God is constantly revealing answers and truths to us as we explore His creation and seek His counsel. He’s has the information and the wisdom we need to work through our doubts and fears, to help us make enlightened choices, and to guide us when we have to act without all the information.

Lord, please help me find answers for the questions I ask and reveal those deep and mysterious ideas that I haven’t even thought to wonder about but actually need to know.
