The voice of God

February 15th, 2015 by Maureen

And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. I Kings 19:12

Moses got an audible voice coming out of a bush on fire. But God is not Captain Obvious. Not every burning bush or major disaster is a message from God. Not every low whisper is either. The more attuned we are to His voice the more likely we are to pick up on what he’s saying. Maybe He made it that way because He’s as much about the relationship as He is about the message.

Lord, I’m listening for Your voice and Your message but I also love the times we just walk along in companionable silence.
