Perceiving abundance

November 26th, 2015 by Maureen

New every morning, abundant is thy faithfulness. Lam. 3:23 (YLT)

Thanksgiving is a culmination of gratitude for a year’s worth of God’s faithfulness. Every day dawns with unique expressions of His love and grace toward us and as we notice those expressions and acknowledge them, we feel happier and more secure – even during hard times – because our focus in on abundance instead of lacking. Thanksgiving is one day in a year’s worth of moments of realization that we are cared for and loved by God.

Lord, thank you for your daily faithfulness through everything that has happened this year.

From and to

Restore us, O Lord, and bring us back to you again! Give us back the joys we once had! Lam. 5:21

God created humans to live in His presence free from fear and guilt. He made us for love and joy and purpose. He didn’t just come to save us from sin and death but to restore us to loving relationships with him and one another and to make us whole.

 Lord, restore me to You.

Pit stops not required

But I called on your name, Lord, from deep within the pit. Lam. 3:55

Corrie Ten Boom said that “there is no pit so deep that the love of God is not deeper still.” God hears our cries when we are in minor pits like traffic, schedules, or budgets and more serious pits involving health or relationships. He loves us and is moving on our behalf even when we don’t feel his presence or see his hand at work right away.

Lord, thank you for helping when life is the pits.
